Deer

By Kathryn Florence Kennedy (@kat.hrynflokennedy)

They only pretend to be deer.

They speak to each other

About the weather.

Just as we do.

Their almost hooves plod

Along the blanket moss,

Flitting their almost ears.

They'll hear you coming.

They'd fool you.

Kathryn Florence is currently a student at the University of Glasgow, studying English Literature. Her inspirations in poetry include John Clare, William Carlos Williams and Gertrude Stein and she wishes to capture surrealism and environmentalism in her pieces as well as interpretable socio-political commentary.
