Apart acquaintances, strangers, and

God, I have not been seen for seven days

There is soot in the air of my apartment

From a jack-o-lantern flame, it stained

Everything ivory

Friday in November, amber outdoor

And I am prettier than ever for

Alone, the stalk-eyed flies and ghosts

Of my carnations, I feel at least
