sunday

By M.S. Blues

this is Lord’s day for some,

but for i, ‘tis just the day

before redundancy goes on;

getting up before the roosters,

having a hard(l)y breakfast of

espresso shots and an omelet

of lassitude and perturbation,

going to school or working to

help beautiful people (if only

i was this compelled to help

myself), returning home to

either get brief rest or start

exercising my mind through

homework or writing, then

enjoying homemade dinners

with mother and d, to finally

recuperating for a couple of

forgiving hours—‘til i brush

my teeth, garden a bit more,

and fall into a volatile sleep,

only to wake up and do it all

over again. so, that said, i do

need a day to prepare, and the

day it be is sunday.
